In this modern world it can be easy to fall under the expectation that you are meant to be able to do everything for yourself. We can often place an unrealistic expectation on ourselves that we are meant to be able to conquer every challenge, complete every task and solve every problem on our own. But this is simply not true. Humans are social and community driven by nature, throughout history we have come together as a group to offer support and to lean on one another in times of strife.
Asking for help is not a weakness, in fact it shows strength and an ability to observe and critically acknowledge where perhaps your skills may need to be supplemented by another's. Particularly when we are juggling a million tasks and trying to maintain our social lives and family’s happiness being able to pass on something that may not necessarily need our attention solely is a hugely liberating thing.
If you are feeling overwhelmed and a bit swamped by the sheer number of things you wish to achieve, or perhaps you are looking at your goals and cannot see where you could even begin to start, try asking a friend or family member for advice or help. They can offer a wonderful new perspective, or even be able to take the burden away through their own expertise.
The key thing to remember is this- at some point we all need help, and you wouldn’t hesitate to help your loved ones and neither will they.
