So you’ve nailed your morning, daily and weekly routine. You go to yoga, you head out for a run during your lunch break and most importantly you have increased your ‘me time’ recently.
However, self care, like anything can plateau. You have probably experienced something similar to this when you have been working out or striving for an aesthetic goal. You go to the gym or for a run and every time you notice results, until it just stops. This is because your body has begun to get used to the positive stress you are placing on it, and physically that is usually when you need to increase your load or distance.
The same goes for self care and personal mental development. We all need to switch it up from time to time to increase our mental and emotional endurance. This is where new experiences come in. When we try something new or different we are engaging different aspects of our creativity and also our brain. We are inviting for new neural pathways to be created and also encouraging ourselves to open up in new ways.
Now this could be as simple as changing up the style of yoga you go to. Moving on from a slow flow to fiery vinyasa or cooling yin. Or it could be that you enrol in a ceramics class or take a different route home from work. The change can be as little or as big as you like. But the important thing is that there is a change of some form.
This week, why not challenge yourself to one new activity. Write it down in your diary, book it in and see how this impacts your life. Note the internal shifts that start to happen and perhaps focus on the way it makes you feel by trying something new and exciting.
We are creatures that crave stimulus, so we should constantly be looking for ways to positively fill that void. Let us know the ways you are changing up your routine.
Have a beautiful week,
Much Love,
