We all have dreams, aspirations and plans. But how many times have you felt as though you are getting no where with a goal and lose your way? Oftentimes our success does not fall on how much we prepare, plan, manage and direct but it is more about the energy and attitude we have towards what we are trying to achieve. In every aspect of our lives the outcome can be determined by the attitude with which we approach it.
Having a positive attitude is a hugely desirable trait and something which we hear a lot of in many books and documentaries. But cultivating this attitude and approach to life is something that can be a little tricky to do at first. We live in a social environment where it can be very easy to suddenly become swamped by negative media, perspectives and focuses. Things that we don’t often perceive as being negative can have a negative effect on our lives overall. Those things that draw our focus away from what we really need to be doing and spending our energy on can suck at our resolve and steer us off our path.
That is where a positive attitude needs to be paired with a focused and driven attention. Now this pairing is incredibly important as it not only enables us to adapt and deal with whatever we experience in our life, but also enables us to stay our course and be able to discern what is important and what details can be put aside.
Manifesting a positive attitude is something that does take daily practice, and it can slip away from time to time due to circumstances outside of our control. But it is so important to remember that in every moment there is something to be grateful for. Missing the 5.30pm train may mean that you have to wait an extra 5 minutes before the next one, but this train may be a bit emptier and you could meet someone amazing. Or even having to wait in line as the person in front of you fumbles trying to remember their pin for their card. This person has gifted you some blissful moments of time with yourself.
So instead of getting frustrated and upset about the things you cannot control, why not focus on the things in your life that you can and bring joy to those. Curate an approach of contentment and gratitude and allow this to fall over each and every situation you come into contact with. The things we label as bad may not be entirely bad and the things we label as good are not always entirely good. It is with a calm mind and a positive attitude that we can begin to understand and appreciate both for what they are and to glean the lesson from each.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Much Love,
